Re: Anthony Yarde
I'm sure I saw an interview with Fisher's dad that the family are Spurs, as is Hearn, though Johnny doesn't seem interested. I want him to do well because he comes across as a nice well-grounded bloke and is 'local'.

Coming from Mile End, can Romford be considered local?

Re: Anthony Yarde
Johnny Fisher is not a football fan, went to uni and was a rugby boy. I guess being from Romford that Hearn will eventually push the West Ham narrative but that’ll be a couple of years down the line. Especially given the Sullivans relationship with Warren.

Yep, spot on.
Ian wright, Paul davis, ‘rocky’ Rocastle (RIP) other role models.
Plus the library was up the road. (local team, which was a bit more common then!).

Back on the boxing front, that Johnny Fisher looks very useful and got a good temperament.

Arsenal fans are the worst for banter, especially the black fans

Re: Anthony Yarde
Don't want to intrude on your chat lads, but this black Arsenal thing
When I was a kid, the Arsenal were known as an Irish club, drew a lot of players from over there too
Turning point was Ian Wright, a South London proper black lad that they all related too, made it the hard way and never stopped being 'black'.
Prior to Wright, they all said to a man that football attendance was a white lads thing, it was dicey and they felt unwelcome, Wrighty changed that
That's according to the many, many black Arsenal fans that I have come across all over the place since. Of course, the first black lads were W Indian, latterly the African lads relate to the Wenger era of W African origin French players
Whatever, meet a black lad and if he follows football you have it nailed on he is a Gooner
OK, enough of me, back to you

RoyalDocksGK, I forgot about the Romford Bull, looks like a good prospect to be fair, had a big pre fight drinks do down at the Drill inn Gidea Park which was one of my regular drinking holes when I lived in Romford.
I know Eddie pretty well and have done since teenage years and yes he will throw the PR machine in to overdrive to push Fisher's profile up to max out the earning potential.

Fisher is lovely and so is his family. Just annoyed at the bosh movement

Johnny Fisher 👌🏻 the Romford bull. Trained by Mark Tibbs should be the next one to follow.

Hearn will milk him for a couple of years after seeing how many fans he had at his last fight at the Wallin v Whyte card. Talk of him taking Fisher over to Vegas end of January.

Re: Anthony Yarde
Ville, this guy was very dodgy. Tried to get us to put a load of money in to a range of concerts at the O2 for a bunch of Rap/Hip Hop acts. Told him we were out on that to, wouldn't have trusted this guy with parking my car let alone investing millions of pounds in to anything this guy brought to the table.
Just glad OD got some proper people around him as he was being milked dry from what I saw.

Re: Anthony Yarde
It could be role models. We sell ourselves on C Best but there were not that many for a while. Arsenal did have viv Anderson and many more. Maybe u and me have just solved it. What u say is bang on.

Not sure mate. I guess Arsenal are just an easy option for black people with minimal interest in football due to them being successful and already having a lot of black fans.

I grew up in South Hackney, and there were a few West Ham and Spurs around and all of them white. The blacks all Arsenal.

Jim/southbank

He got dismantled by josh but now we know why. Josh is world class. OD is a good man and a euro level fighter for sure. His main sponsor, this bloke from Surrey is genuine but OD also has dodgy fuckers around him. And Yarde. And all else in their gym.
Question I have is (and I've asked OD) is what happened to the golden contract.

If they’re black and from Hackney, they’re 99% gonna be Arsenal fans.

Re: Anthony Yarde
Ville, I met some fella who was working with Ohara about 7/8 yrs ago when he was first coming up. He was a bit of a hood rat trying to ride on Davies' coat tails and sponge off his talent. Came to us to try and get us to put some money in to him and boost him up. Always watched his fights with interest as he was clearly a good fighter but had too many hangers on at that point, was like a rapper with everyone thinking he was their ticket out of the shit. Glad we passed on it.

Re: Anthony Yarde
Cheers, Pent. Interesting. I noted early on that he's a Hackney lad and wondered if he was genuinely West Ham. But it seems not. So many boxers try that fake West Ham route - seems it can be a money spinner and sell tickets. Maybe our fans just love a tear-up!

He looks like he has talent, but he was taken apart by Taylor (now world champion). No shame in that, of course.

Re: Anthony Yarde
I mean the situation was odd. He was quite normal and endearing.

Pentonville 3:02 Mon Dec 6
Re: Anthony Yarde
Was odd. He reached out and asked to come and told me why. He said I want to be west ham fan cos I know west ham fans are loyal. I wouldn't have done it if he had supported someone else before but he wanted to find a home so to speak. His main sponsor from Weybridge in Surrey was west ham so he tweeted me and asked if he and his sponsor could come. I took them to supporters club at Hackney and to be honest everyone was surprised he was a very humble and nice man. Prob a bit wary as there were a lot of Herbert's that day wanting to meet him. Very nice man, clever man. Never west ham though lol.
Told me about the act he puts on and the exact of money he wants to get to check out with. I'll always be a supporter but he ain't west ham lol. He tried with all due respect

Re: Anthony Yarde
What's Davies like, Pent? I saw his defeat against Taylor and, not only was he outclassed, he looked (that night) like he would never get to that sort of top level.

But, I have to be honest, I've not seen much of him - and Taylor is a tough fella.

One of my biggest disappointments was Kev at The boleyn. Katsidis. Great night up until that point.
